レーダ反射強度データによる船種識別に関する研究
Abstract
Maritime traffic volume surveys are conducted prior to large-scale harbor and reclamation work. In recent years, in such surveys, the data of large ships, etc., which are obliged to be equipped with Automatic Identification System (AIS), are often used. On the other hand, small ships are not obliged to carry AIS, and there are many ships that cannot use AIS. In the previous report, we proposed a ship type identification method based on ship images using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the purpose of speedy identification of such small ships. However, this method brings the problem of acquiring clear images at night. Therefore, we investigated a method for identifying ship types from radar reflection intensity data using AI techniques. For verification, the data from on-site observation of three days were used to identify the type of ship using an AI method. We will report the results.
